OSOM Deliveries

Oversize overmass (OSOM) deliveries

Wind turbine deliveries: Port of Gladstone to Boulder Creek Wind Farm

Oversize overmass (OSOM) deliveries are scheduled from late July to early 2027.

We are committed to minimising impacts to the local community and other road users.

  • Police and safety vehicles will escort each delivery to the site
  • Temporary delays may occur due to changes in road and/or traffic conditions

Staying informed 

OSOM delivery schedule 

Deliveries are scheduled to occur during off-peak hours and will comply with permits and route conditions.

  • Up to five (5) deliveries each night, seven (7) days a week
  • Depart Port of Gladstone from 12 midnight
  • Arrive at Boulder Creek Wind Farm by 6am
  • Delivery times may change due to weather or operational conditions

Site entry point – Westwood

All delivery vehicles will access the site via the newly constructed intersection from the Capricorn Highway, travelling along Roger Street, Arthur Street, and Flaggy Creek Road to the site entry point at Westwood.

Deliveries to and from Boulder Creek Wind Farm

Two routes will be used from the Port of Gladstone:

The delivery route will be determined based on the size of the turbine blades and components.

Route 1 (OSOM under 5.2 m high) via:

  • Red Rover Road and Don Young Drive
  • Bruce Highway and Capricorn Highway

Route 2 (OSOM over 5.2 m high) via: 

  • Flinders Parade, Goondoon Street and Lord Street
  • Dawson Highway, Bruce Highway and Capricorn Highway


Travel safely near oversized vehicles:

  1. Slow down
  2. Be ready to stop
  3. Follow traffic escort, pilots, police and traffic control instructions
  4. Keep a safe distance
  5. Be patient - you will be allowed to pass or overtake when safe
  6. Expect wind gusts when passing
  7. Stay alert for changed road conditions
  8. Truck drivers, pilots and police escorts need space to keep people safe
  9. Temporary delays may be experienced due to changed road and/or traffic conditions.
